SUMMARY:RVS Spring course on the opportunities and challenges of A.I. in research
DESCRIPTION:The RVS Spring course 2025 is hosted by VID Oslo in cooperation with Univer
sity College Stockholm, and held at the Diakonhjemmet campus in Oslo.\nThis
year's theme is: What is A.I. – and what’s in it for the PhD student? Crit
ical and promising implications for researchers, academia and society. \nSe
e here for more details (courses/spring-courses)\nThe course will discuss A
.I. and the impact on new techologies through the following, inter-related
lenses:\n\n - A.I. and its consequences for society. What are the implicati
ons for the pratices where RVS members have their research interest?  \n -
A.I. and our research practices: \n - A.I. as useful tool that may help us
in many of our activities, but that also play back into our activities. Tra
nscriptions, literature reviews, language, teaching. Emphasis on practical
issues, but also some basic research ethics. \n - A.I. and fundamental cons
equences for research practices and identities. Core ethical and exitential
issues around the future of research as we know it. A more detailed progra
m, and registration fee, will be published in not too long.  \nKeynotes and
responsible for introductions are, among others: Ingeborg Hognestad Krange
(Østfold University College), Rikard Roitto (University College Stockholm/
EHS), Marianne Schleicher (Århus University) and Atle Søvik (MF Vitenskapel
ig høyskole, Oslo).\nThis is the first course for the continued RVS 2025-20
29, and we look forward to seeing you in Oslo in May! \nPlanning committee:
Anne Austad, chair (VID), Jonas Ideström (EHS), Tomas S. Drønen (VID), Sti
ne Madsen Kvaløy, PhD student (VID), Annette Leis-Peters (VID), Fredrik Sax
 egaard (RVS). \n
